Spicy, ripe plum flavours, easygoing tannins and a creamy aftertaste makes this your red wine go-to. Add sparkle to even the most humdrum of pizzas (yes, even Hawaiian!). This Shiraz is also gorgeous with seared ostrich or springbok carpaccio.TASTING NOTEBright flavours of cassis and violets followed by integrated spice and subtle oak aromas. The palate is medium bodied with fine, dense tannin and balanced acidity.
Korma curry or mildly spiced rogan josh, or fire-cooked hamburgers with bacon and cheddar cheese.
WINEMAKERJohan Jordaan ORIGIN Western Cape TERROIR / SOIL Decomposed granite and weathered sandstone. VINEYARD AND CLIMATE CONDITIONSThese vineyards are planted up to 80 km from the coast with geographical influence from mountains and the cold Atlantic coast. Complexity is achieved by blending these different regional wines. WINEMAKINGGrapes were harvested at optimal ripeness, gently crushed and de-stemmed to stainless-steel tanks. Fermentation lasted up to 12 days on the skins. A portion of the wine (20%) was transferred to neutral barrels and the balance to stainless-steel tanks with French-oak staves for malolactic fermentation and maturation. The wine matured for a minimum of 12 months before blending.
